speaks more to locals than to the world.

"A surprisingly ambitious Georgian low-budget film that was even sent to the Oscars. It's a story about a kid struggling with insecurities, faith, and hormones - a deeply personal and local tale. I get what Sikharulidze was trying to say, but the execution feels uneven. The message lands more clearly if you live in Georgia and understand the culture behind it. For foreigners, a lot of the emotional context might get lost. It's an honest effort, but one that speaks more to locals than to the world...."
