"I have been a faithful viewer of all the Law & Order series, and although many of the episodes are clunkers, there's usually some redeeming factor that makes it watchable. I kept waiting for that moment with this episode, and it never came. The episode managed to further the narrative that Hispanic immigrants are dangerous animals, White people are never safe in the city because they'll be targeted by those "animals", and the Bronx is someplace that's akin to another country (I grew up there - it isn't). This is the first case Rollins works after being shot in the Law & Order episode Gimme Shelter - Part Three (2022). It is said that six weeks have passed since the events of that episode. Benson and Rollins discuss the experience further later in the episode, during which Rollins mentions having been shot before. This incident occurred in season fourteen's Poisoned Motive (2013), where Rollins was shot in the shoulder.
