"I read a lot of bad reviews about this film, attacks on the script, plot and direction, so I was pleasantly surprised to find they were all wrong and they totally missed the point. I think these people were expecting Oscar winning performances but this film is about watching bad guys getting their a*s kicked. I also read that the actors seems withdrawn and bored of their roles and that is utter rubbish, and even if that were true it doesn't matter, im not interested in deep characters and meaningful performances in films like this, I just want to see lots of destruction and the bad guys g..."

Bruce Willis was set to reprise his role of Mr. Church, at a salary of $3 million ($750,000 per day for four consecutive days). However, Willis reportedly demanded $1 million per day instead, or a higher pay with a reduced shooting schedule. Co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger was said to be particularly upset by this, and despite Sylvester Stallone trying to smooth things over, he and the producers refused Willis' demands, so he left the film. Within three days, Stallone was able to get Harrison Ford to replace the Church role as a new character. Ford's quip about being called "short notice" alludes to these events (which were well publicized long before the film premiered). Upon being asked why Willis left the film, Schwarzenegger simply tweeted the word "Greedy", and when asked if he missed working with Willis, he simply answered: "Not everyone is built for teamwork." Crew members who worked on both films said that the atmosphere on the third movie was substantially lighter without Willis.
