SoulCatchers is a work of art about a work of art. It is a meditation and a journey based on an installation of 400 unique porcelain objects inhabiting a re-purposed kiln behind Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, Germany in a contained space whose walls still speak of fire, the means of transformation from primal earth to material culture. SoulCatchers have been created from raw materials since primitive times to catch the souls of the sick and hasten their return to health, keep the souls of the departed in the community, or imprison the souls of wrongdoers.
