"The first episode of I, Claudius was striking for its writing and acting, but it did feel a bit like a stage play. The second episode isn't necessarily cinematic in an epic sense, but I noticed how it was filmed and blocked a little more here, and realised it's pretty creatively shot, too, though in a usually not too flashy way. Quite a few long takes, and some real coordination on the parts of the camera operators and actors...."
