The ratings are definitely off
"The characters are likable and the plot is OK. But the production costs were probably $29.99. They use special effects that look like they've been created by a 3rd grader in MS Paint. The dialogue is unnatural because the actors deliver all of their lines without any pause. It's not a horrible movie, but the overwhelmingly positive ratings just have to be fake...."
