Hands Tied

A quick tight short film!

I do like action-crime thrillers, so seeing this short film was more engaging and dropped right into the conflict. The two corrupt cops interrogate the former cop for a code that will lead to materials, and it will interfere with the former cop&apos;s investigation. However, the former cop reveals to the female corrupt cop about the transcript, revealing that if she continues working as his enforcer, they would hold off on looking for her sister. A betrayal of these two cops and the irony with the former cop not helping out the male cop due to her hands being &quot;tied up&quot;. The production design work, including costuming, helps sell the idea of who is who in terms of bad and good cops. I did like the handheld cinematography being used, especially being up close. The underground lighting with yellow, green, and orange colors pops out well. More especially during the low-angle punch shot. However, the final punch looked out of order, which left me startled. Even then, the performances were the spotlight, and since it was considered a &quot;Demo scene&quot;, there was more of a focus on Kate Coleman&apos;s character. Her reactions were the biggest standout from her performance, which helps deliver the tense situation she is in. Lastly, the pacing is tight, but I was hoping for more physical fighting in the interrogation, which would have made the scene feel fast. I wish there were more variety of angles for the interrogation, but I was still engaged with the handheld filmmaking. A great, tight short scene.
