Many people consider pigeons to be dirty pests in our cities. Yet, for a long time, pigeons were considered important farm animals for humans. And pigeons make wonderful pets. There are three types of domestic pigeons: pedigree pigeons are known for their distinctive appearance, racing pigeons impress with their acrobatic flight skills, and homing pigeons reach top speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour in races. Anna meets 17-year-old pigeon enthusiast Michi. Michi has kept pigeons for many years and knows a lot about these animals. When it comes to tricky questions about pigeons, Michi gets support from Gerhard, the chairman of the local poultry breeders' association. Because Michi wants to have his pigeons checked out, Anna and Michi head to Gerhard's pigeon garden together.
