Burglar Ted Stanbury breaks into a house owned by a Mr Sugden to rob a safe. He is interrupted by another burglar,Dick Fogarty, who is there on the same job. They have both been sent there by the same man, Horrie. The two men are then interrupted by a third person, who says he is Mr Sugden. The two criminals plea for mercy and Sugden agrees to let them go, keeping their tools. Sugden then breaks into the safe himself. When he does, a fourth man enters the room - the real Mr Sugden. He is in cahoots with the third man, who he asked to commit robbery and claim the missing items on insurance. They plan to use the tools to blame Ted and Dick. The fourth man calls the police. Two of them arrive. They deduce that Sugden arranged the robbery and arrest him.
