"I caught this Finnish film during the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival 2024 and I must say, I am disappointed. As a fan of Aki Kaurismaki's work, I am a fond admirer of Finnish cinema. So I was expecting more out of this film, which strives to be like Toni Erdmann but ends up being a sad ripoff which never hits its stride. The story is straightforward and simple, and the themes are treated superficially. The movie moves like molasses, with nothing profound or important to say about father-daughter relationships.
