Never Get Busted!

So far, one of the best films I&apos;ve seen during this festival.

I saw &quot;Never Get Busted!&quot; today at the Philadelphia Film Festival. After having seen three mediocre to poor films before it, I was thrilled to see this one as it NEVER was boring and has a bigger than life central character you just have to see to believe!

I agree with AnnabelHarper97, in that Barry Cooper reminds you a lot of &apos;The Tiger King&apos;...though a lot less self-destructive and much more of a weird renaissance man.

Cooper was once one of the top Texas law enforcement officers when it came to drug busts. Finding drugs was like an addition to him. So imagine the police&apos;s reaction when Cooper one day quit...saying he didn&apos;t feel that the drug laws were just! But he want a few steps further. Soon Cooper was actively using pot AND made a DVD telling users who to effectively circumvent getting caught!! Oh, and he also was a preacher for a while. So what happens next...well that is what makes the story so interesting and frightening.

If you are a die-hard &apos;cops are never wrong&apos; type, then you&apos;ll hate this movie. If you are open to the idea that some police are just bad and the drug laws are sometimes irrational, then you&apos;ll likely enjoy this. What makes this such an extraordinary film is that Cooper is such a strange man that you never know what he&apos;ll do next...as well as how badly law enforcement responded to him just exercising his First Amendment right to free speech. A truly memorable and well made documentary.
