The Anaconda villain Pike Holden's name was taken from the western, The Wild Bunch (1969). The actor William Holden played a character by the name of Pike. Devil Hawk's name was taken from one of the bosses from the 1985 arcade video game GunSmoke by Capcom. "Deadpan" comes from a villain in the PC video game Max Payne. Deke Otrebor was originally named Deke Golobulus, but the producer decided to change it to avoid a lawsuit from Hasbro, as this was the name of a character in G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987).
