"Despite top notch actors this film did not work - dreary, shallow and disapponting. Needed a much better script and characterisation with depth , sympathy and insight. Must do better. We did not get any insight into Colleen's life - she was just a dropout on benefits cliche. None are. And Elsie was not worth investing with any individuality - hobbies, likes, peculiarities at all - just came across as a depiction of all older people living on their own as sad and boring.
