"We have watched Dinner for one every year (James) at christmas since I can remember. For fans of the original sketch I think they did an amazing job. The feel matches very well, Von Rittberg does great at bringing out the cheeky Miss Sophie and the series does a good job at bringing in loads of little easter eggs. However, if you have no relationship tp the original, you will lose out quite a bit of feels, easter eggs and jokes. It is still a fun slapstick comedy series, meant to not be taken seriously.
