"I like the story of The Hitchhiker, although it's by no means unique in the horror genre. What sets it apart from similar stories, however, is the loop the two men have obviously entered and the fact that all events take place in broad daylight. Typically, this kind of horror scenario would unfold at night. In hindsight, the film wasn't scary at all, mostly because the daylight makes everything feel too alive.
