Frenetic energy, creative direction and a career best performance from Chalamet make this one of the year's best
by Stargrazingreviews2026-01-04
9/10

"Josh Saffdie continues his excellent run of movies by maintaining his trademark suffocating atmosphere in which a series of interwoven plotlines build into a never ending anxiety attack. Chalamet is a tour de force as Marty, playing his narcissism perfectly where you end up routing for him despite making bad and self centered decisions at all every turn. The anachronistic 80s synth pop/rock soundtrack is sensational and the film lets you know it's willing to get weird from the outset with two standout scenes (sperm and honey)...."

💡 Did You Know?

Géza Röhrig's character Béla Kletzki is based on Polish table tennis player Alojzy "Alex" Ehrlich. After spending four years in Auschwitz, he was sent to Dachau, where he was saved from the gas chamber because the Nazis recognized him as a world champion. The honeycomb story is real, as detailed in Marty Reisman's autobiography.
