Director Aditya Dhar shot approximately seven hours of footage during the production of the film. While the project was initially conceived as a single feature, Aditya Dhar realized during post-production in October 2025 that the scope of the narrative and the complexity of the character conflicts could not be effectively condensed into a standard theatrical run-time without feeling rushed. Consequently, the decision was made to split the story into a two-part saga. The first installment, released on December 5, 2025, features a run-time of 214 minutes (3 hours and 34 minutes), making it one of the longest Indian films in decades. The second part, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026), is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
