The story of how a British Italian documentary film crew came to become friends with one of the most notorious mafioso killers of the late 80s, Orazio Vella. A corner of southern Sicily erupted into a new era of intermafia brutality. Stidda, a rogue mafia faction that waged war in the seaside town of Gela, challenged the ruling Cosa Nostra. But this was a mafia war like no other. The Stidda hitmen, torturers, arsonists, and extortionists were, literally, above the law. They were children. They were the Baby Killers of Gela. Through a chance meeting on the side of an Italian motorway in 2014 while Orazio was still in witness protection having been arrested two decades prior for a handful of the alleged 35 murderers he had committed, now spanned a new found friendship for over ten years between Orazio and the film crew. What once started as an attempt to tell one of the most fascinating periods of time in modern Sicilian crime history didn't quite materialize. Instead through fear for their own lives and then a sense of sadness towards the contributor lead them to never release the material they had captured all those years ago. Now, after ten years.
