"A brilliant episode, showcasing the lethality and political nuance of the Custodian Guard and her companion Sister of Silence. Well paced, brilliantly animated, and absolutely true to official lore. I would love an entire series about these two! The Adeptus Arbites were great to see too, although I find their role in the plot a little difficult to place. The Arbites are meant to be very thinly spread, upholding the Lex Imperialis across the entire galaxy, but also are seen here en-masse. That said, given the vital nature of their work in this episode, and the circumstances, it does make sense..."

In episode 2 we see a sister of silence and a custodian. But unlike the lore, spanning a vast amount of books, games and other media across several decades, this shows a female custodes. Something that sparked controversy as it has long been established that only the sons of nobles houses are chosen to be trained to be custodians, while women are sent off to become sisters of silence of sisters of battle. This politically based retcon has since been ignored by the majority of the fanbase and is also never mentioned again in any subsequent stories.
