It was announced in April 2024 that Linnea Quigley and others involved in trying to make Trash's Revenge a reality discovered that, according to a statement put out, a company called Living Dead Media had illegitimately claimed copyright ownership and had been profiting from The Return of the Living Dead for the last 10 years without paying any royalties to the cast. This has resulted in the campaign being temporarily halted while this issue was sorted out.
