"One cannot enjoy a James Joyce movie without appreciating James Joyce; unfortunately here it is a very reworking of an original story by Joyce: to tell the truth, it is hard to still recognize any particular thing belonging to Joyce's writing style indide this very visual movie. Both interesting and pervert, it is difficult to judge over the qualities in this film. As a stand alone work it is a great picture but not as a James Joyce reference...."
