Jankiri lives in an isolated region of Nepal. At 76, nothing distinguishes him a priori from neighboring peasants. He cultivates his fields around his house, sorts his corn, cuts his wood. But he is also Shaman. And like every year, the fateful night is approaching. The one where his powers, allied with those of the other shamans of the region, will allow "" to go and seek "the spirit of the ancestors in the heart of the forest and to capture it. This spirit will be immediately taken to a summit, 3,500 m away, to protect the inhabitants of the valley for the coming year. It is a perilous and delicate, even uncertain challenge. To disturb the spirits requires great mastery on the part of shamans which take all the necessary precautions to protect themselves during secret and macabre ceremonies.
