The wine cellar scenes were filmed in the Provost Dungeon in Charleston, SC. Props were brought in including wine racks and barrels to give the appearance of a cellar. The dungeon once held captured pirates in its walls where they were chained to the walls and starved and tortured. The famous pirate Blackbeard was said to have once been held in the dungeon. Today, you can visit the dungeon on a walking tour from downtown Charleston.
