"The sequel/prequel to Game of Death unfolds across two different timelines, which gives the story a very unique rhythm. We get to see many familiar characters from the first film again, both in their human and their demonic forms. What I especially like is that the movie is heavily influenced by Italian horror cinema. Certain scenes-church, fog, catacombs-could have come straight from Fulci in terms of atmosphere. The last 30 minutes are a massive showdown, during which Lewis Santer goes full Bruce Campbell mode.
