&quot;Extrawurst&quot; takes something utterly trivial and blows it up to club-meeting proportions. A grill. A vote. A discussion. That&apos;s all the film needs to show how quickly everyday nonsense can turn into a full-blown social proxy war.

Almost everything takes place in a single location, and it works surprisingly well. The film lives off dialogue, glances, pauses and a cast that knows how to play things dry without slipping into broad farce. Seeing Hape Kerkeling again is simply fun, if only for his presence alone.

My personal highlight, though, is Christoph Maria Herbst the moment he&apos;s on screen, you automatically listen more closely. He turns every sharp remark into a clean hit. Fahri Yardim and Anja Knauer also fit in perfectly, without overplaying or disappearing.

The film starts strong. Very strong, actually. The first escalations land, the dynamics are instantly clear and the jokes come almost casually which is exactly why they work. Toward the end, however, things begin to drag a little. A lot of topics are opened up integration, identity, fear of change but not all of them are fully explored. What remains is more observation than true escalation.

What I really like is that Extrawurst doesn&apos;t want to lecture. The satire works with a wink. The film holds up a mirror to society without smashing it in your face. It shows how easily we turn small issues into principles and principles into problems.

Bottom line: A fun, dry satirical film with a strong ensemble, sharp observations and a theme that feels bigger than it has any right to be. Not everything sticks until the end, but there&apos;s more than enough here to stay entertained.
