Chef Josh Emett was a co-founder of the Madam Woo restaurant chain, which originated in Queenstown. However, his involvement ended in 2021 when the company behind the restaurants, Go To Collection, went into voluntary administration. As of 2025 Emett is no longer involved with Madam Woo. His ventures include the restaurants Onslow in Auckland, The Oyster Inn in Waiheke Island, and Gilt Brasserie in Auckland.
