Nele and Paul's morning patrol of the lake ends with the discovery of a body on the shore. Teenager Victor Fuchs has drowned after suffering a broken neck. When the two detectives arrive at "Haus Sterntaucher," where Victor was part of a residential project for juvenile delinquents, they witness an argument between Ben Stadler and carpenter Dennis Rutschinski, who is building a boat out of scrap wood with the teenagers. However, the three teenagers-Ben, his girlfriend Michelle, and Kiara-present themselves to the police as an ignorant unit, and their social worker, Katrin Böblinger, also claims to have been unaware of any conflict. When Julia finds a scrap of fabric at the potential crime scene and Jakob hacks the dead man's cell phone, the case begins to move. Katrin Böblinger insists on speaking to the police only in the presence of a lawyer, while Michelle voluntarily gives a statement to the police about Kiara, a statement clearly intended to mislead the investigators.
