"Corey Feldman Vs The World often plays like a real life Spinal Tap. At times it is genuinely funny, awkwardly absurd and surreal in ways that almost feel scripted. You laugh, you cringe and you cannot quite believe what you are watching. But as the documentary progresses, the humour drains away and something far sadder takes its place. By the latter half, the film becomes uncomfortable viewing. Not because it is badly made, but because it slowly reveals a man who appears deeply lost, surrounded by people equally trapped in his orbit. What initially feels like ego and delusion starts to resemb..."

When the film was first screened for Feldman, he walked out of the screening room. A day later, hours before the world premiere, his legal team sent cease and desist letters to the filmmakers, Apple, and the American Cinematheque, who were scheduled to host the premiere. The Cinematheque played the film anyway, and in a surprise Q&A session afterward, several of Corey's Angels accused Feldman of withholding their wages for years or not paying them in their entirety, and also accused him of exploiting them and leading a sex cult.
