This short was made for exhibition at the Ford Pavilion during the 1934 season of the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago, Ford hadn't participated during the 1933 season. It combined live action, stop-motion photography, animation and music (with no narration) to tell the story of the building of a Ford V-8 automobile. The second half of the show at the Ford Pavilion consisted of "The Human Ford," described by one news account as "a Ford V-8 in sparkling finish which talks to the audience, answers questions and reads the serial numbers of watches and dollar bills." This film was later seen in theaters across the country in screenings sponsored by Ford dealerships along with another documentary "Ford and A Century of Progress."
