Overalls & Aprons explores the sustainability of local farmers, livestock producers, and fishery in the Lowcountry community of Charleston, SC, through the lens of 10 celebrated chefs who are committed to restoring the cultural culinary landscape and identity of their regional food-ways as well as its futurity. The film visually shows the transparency of how communities interact in support of strengthening a sustainable local food infrastructure, especially in the South where agriculture has such a rich history. The documentary features several admired Charleston chefs including 3 James Beard winners chef Mike Lata of FIG and The Ordinary, chef Sean Brock of Husk, McCradys and Minero's, and chef Jason Stanhope FIG, along with renowned Charleston talent such as chef Kevin Johnson of The Grocery, chef Frank Lee of Slightly North of Broad and Maverick Southern Kitchens, chef Craig Deihl of Cypress, chef BJ Dennis, chef Ricky Hacker of EVO Pizza and Bakery, chef Nico Romo of Fish Restaurant, chef Jeremiah Bacon of The Macintosh and Oak Steakhouse and chef Fred Neuville of Fat Hen, and tons of Farmers, Fishers, and livestock producers.
