"This sounds on paper like an interesting true story. A genuine adventure tale involving an eccentric Englishman's endeavours.. But what we get is so muddled, poorly paced and badly made that it's almost unwatchable. The actors are actually fairly good and I can't really fault most of their performances. Rather it's the overall production which is so lacking in and rhythm or cadence so as to set the pace of the film - it's a round the world race after all, but you'd never know it. This felt like a man went around the Norfolk Broads in his pyjama's and barely ..."

All the scenes in the film set in Donald Crowhurst's house and gardens were actually filmed in the real house. The production moved into the house and shot there for several days, including in the Crowhurst living room, bedrooms, study and grounds.
