In 2018, while a guest on the National Public Radio quiz show "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!," Neil Patrick Harris said that during the first season of the show, the makeup artists had to apply and reapply a temporary version of the tattoo, but between the first and second seasons of the show, he actually got a real version of the tattoo--so whenever Count Olaf's tattoo is visible during season 2, that is Harris's actual tattoo.
