Yorgos Lanthimos Takes On Old-Fashioned England
by Gresh8542018-10-14
7/10

"The Favourite was not what I expected. This isn't classic Yorgos Lanthimos, this is a whole new, more whimsical Yorgos Lanthimos, approached parallel to his usual sinister, vexing, and twisted spirit. In full hindsight, this more comedic and less calamitous manner ended with me completely and whole-heartedly digging it. 💡 Did You Know?

The historical Abigail entered Queen Anne's service in 1704. Anne's husband, Prince George of Denmark, is never seen or mentioned, even though he didn't die until 1708. His death, as well as the deaths of their children, was among the reasons for Anne's depression.
