"Constable Bowles vehemently denies allegations of racism and allowing Mr Ahmed to be attacked, Edward Sandys QC gives him a rough ride. Martin Parry, defence counsel establishes that Bowles was a capable officer and had been given a commendation for bravery. The Jury have to make a tough decision. It has been so good, and perhaps near the knuckle, it's a shame to think that such attacks still happen on our streets some fifty years on, some things sadly never change.
