"Lady Dyson gives her evidence, she explains that she had picked up various items, placed them into her bag, with a view to paying for them after her coffee, something she'd done countless times. Dyson states that she had some upsetting news from her friend Mark Wharton and that to avoid seeing him, she darted out of the store, unaware. Can you imagine if it was some rough, chain smoking woman from a council estate, claiming that she had absent mindedly pinched several items, because she was on a couple of pills, and saw an old friend outside, she'd have been laughed out of court. I..."
