Don&apos;t Look at the Demon

Much better than anticipated

Wasn&apos;t sure what to expect here, but I thoroughly enjoyed this flick. The movie moved along at a brisk pace, the acting was serviceable and the story, though well-worn, offered enough original touches to provide a moderately unique experience. And to be fair, possession films have been done to death. There&apos;s not much more that can added to one of these to truly create a standout film. I find it disingenuous to bash this genre because of a lack of originality. This movie definitely had its moments and mixed it up enough to create a satisfying experience.

A few nick picks however. The main male lead was woefully miscast. He looked like a Calvin Klein pretty boy male model, not an independent on-line content producer. Really kept taking me out of the film. Some of the melodrama seemed more applicable to a Hallmark Cannel made-for-tv movie. A lot of it just went nowhere or was thinly used to move the narrative along.

But outside those and some other quirks (like just leave the F&apos;n house), solid horror thriller to entertain you for 90 minutes.
