"Cops retiring at 50 is not weird. I actually applaud James for playing age appropriate here. The part that messes it up is the supporting cast. The wife is the worst offender. She has no character (Leah Remini is tough to follow) and she is too young. The friends are interchangeable, the would be son-in-law is a pathetic stereotype. I don't dislike Kevin James but he didn't carry King of Queens on his own and he sure can't carry this show...."
