Don't even get me started on sax solos. Because the saxophone is like the antithesis of rock. Like, remember back in the '80s when all those boomer rockers were feeling, you know, irrelevant because of punk and disco and shit. And then, you had guys like Eric Clapton being like "Oh, I'm Eric Clapton and I made all my best music when I was in my 20's, but do you want to see my latest trick? It's a sax solo, it's so mature and grown up." And then you had guys like Sting and Don Henley who saw that and were like, oh, what a great idea. We're gonna furrow our brow and take a black-and-white album cover and look super serious on it. And you know how they're gonna figure out that we're super serious artists with serious concerns about serious issues? With sax solos! It is no exaggeration to say that the saxophone is a cancer on the human psyche.
