Dan bribes the Sky Haven desk clerk to get a New York address for Harold Jamison, the clerk who was working the night Steve and Carolee checked in to the resort. Steve confides in Emma that he can't keep his promise to Carolee that he not tell Dan the truth. Nick admits to Martha that he's depressed because John Morrison is chasing after Althea, who's a proud dame and won't let him help her. Emma isn't sure that she disagrees with Carolee's desire to tell Dan alone. Steve suggests to Emma that Carolee could cause harm to herself and the baby if she continues to be stressed over the situation with Dan. After Steve makes her realize how unforgiving and angry Dan can be, Emma agrees to speak with Carolee. Dan tells Carolee that he has to go New York to gather some information and won't be back until the morning after. Before he goes, Dan orders Carolee to stay away from the staff lounge to avoid hospital gossip about her and Steve spending time together while her husband is away. Pretending to be Steve, Dan phones the personnel department at Hope Memorial and asks for a copy of his hospital ID photo.
