Originally written to be a part of the failed feature film "Baron Von Laugho's Halloween Spook-A-Thon!", "The Karvers" segment was put on the back burner and nearly canceled even though about half of the footage for it had already been shot. It wasn't until the first director Dylan R. Nix left the project, did director Jeff Everhart step in and do a great amount of re-writing and re-shoots to save the story, turning it into a short for theEeffect. As a result "The Karvers" was so well received and complimented, that this prompted Nix and Everhart to collaborate and push to finish "Baron Von Laugho's Halloween Spook-A-Thon!" after all.
