In May 2025, the producer David Ozer was sentenced to 18 months in prison for defrauding an investor, the production company Ravenwood, in the show out of $214,486 and siphoning funds from Safehaven's budget to pay his personal expenses. The schedule originally called for 70 days of shooting, but had to be reduced to 65 days, posing a risk of cutting the runtime of several of the episodes below 40 minutes, which ultimately didn't happen.
