"Flicker isn't bad for a horror short, but one thing disturbed my viewing experience right from the start: the magically appearing lantern. Where did she get it? Maybe it was in her backpack-but why? Most people don't just carry a lantern around. It felt like some important context was missing. Was she prepared because she knew she'd need it? To make things even stranger, she loses the lantern only to suddenly have a flashlight. The mystery of these magically appearing portable lights kept pulling me out of the story...."
