Though it shares much of the same cast, this is not the same production as the 1973 Australian film version. This production was produced for TV as one of the last episodes of the long running "BP Super Show" series of specials. A review in the 4 August 1970 edition of newspaper The Canberra Times was mixed, feeling that the small TV screens of the era were ill-suited to such a large-scale production, though the reviewer still enjoyed the show.
