"It seemed to me that SAVAGE RIVER was trying to create a Scandinavian-type dark crime story. The impressive opening titles certainly gave me that impression. But, for me, it didn't live up to that expectation. The story is about Miki Anderson, who returns to her hometown in rural Tasmania after serving a 15-year prison sentence for murder.
